Larry King's handwritten last will and testament, which was made public recently, shocked his estranged wife, Shawn King.
She claims that the legendary TV host drafted the will in secret, leaving her out and instead dividing the funds equally among their children.
Now, Shawn is taking her battle to court.
In a legal objection filed on Tuesday, Shawn King reveals that she recently discovered her husband had a secret account through which he made substantial gifts to various individuals, including over $266,000 to Larry King Jr., his son from a previous marriage.
Shawn aims to recover some or all of that money.
Additionally, she opposes Larry King Jr.'s petition to be appointed a special administrator of the handwritten will and have it admitted into probate.
An attorney representing Larry King Jr. responded to Shawn's objections by stating, “The will reflects Larry's intent to share his estate equally among his children.
We have no comment regarding Shawn's objections.”
Larry King's scrawled last will and testament, excluding Shawn King, was made public last week.
The funds are to be divided equally among his children.
Shawn expressed her belief that someone may have influenced Larry King to create the new will, and she vows to vigorously contest it in court.
She insists that their original family estate plan, which she considers watertight, remains valid and should be recognized as the legitimate will.
Larry and Shawn King were married for 22 years but were in the process of divorcing when Larry finalized the new, secret will.
In his final televised interview last year, Larry disclosed that their differences in child-rearing and religion contributed to their separation.
He also acknowledged their significant 26-year age difference as a factor in their troubled relationship.
