Angelina Jolie Reveals Allegations of Abuse by Brad Pitt in Legal Battle

has filed a countersuit against her ex-husband , providing new details of alleged abusive behavior by him during a private plane ride in 2016.

This incident ultimately led to the end of their marriage.

The court filing was made as part of an ongoing legal battle over a winery that the former couple once owned together.

In the court documents filed in Los Angeles, Jolie's lawyers stated that negotiations to sell her share of the winery to Pitt broke down due to his demand for a nondisclosure agreement.

This agreement would have prevented Jolie from speaking publicly about Pitt's alleged physical and emotional abuse towards her and their children.

The filing describes a disturbing incident that took place in September 2016 while the family was flying from France to California.

According to Jolie, Pitt choked one of their children and struck another in the face.

He also allegedly grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her.

Additionally, he poured beer on Jolie and the children at one point, and beer and red wine at another.

Although federal authorities investigated the incident, no criminal charges were brought forth.

Shortly after this plane ride, Jolie filed for divorce.

Anne Kiley, a divorce lawyer representing Pitt, acknowledged that he has taken responsibility for some past actions but denies accountability for things he did not do.

Kiley also revealed that during this year's divorce settlement negotiations, Jolie's lawyer proposed a stipulation that neither party could make derogatory public comments about the other, except in court.

While Pitt's side agreed to discuss this term, Jolie's side never brought up the nondisparagement proposal again.

The divorce between Jolie and Pitt has been ongoing for several years, primarily due to a custody battle over their six children.

More recently, a lawsuit was filed by Pitt regarding the French winery, Château Miraval, which the couple purchased over a decade ago.

Pitt's lawsuit accuses Jolie of violating his contractual rights when she sold her stake in the company without his approval.

Jolie's countersuit explains that she only sold her share elsewhere after negotiations broke down over Pitt's demand for a nondisclosure agreement.

She claims that an FBI agent who investigated the 2016 plane incident concluded that there was probable cause to charge Pitt with a federal crime for his conduct on that day.

The heavily redacted FBI report on the case, which was obtained by The New York Times, reveals that the United States Attorney's Office discussed the investigation with the case agent but decided not to pursue criminal charges due to several factors.

Representatives from the FBI and the US Attorney's Office in Los Angeles declined to comment on the case.

Jolie's lawyers stated that she has gone to great lengths to protect their children from reliving the pain caused by Pitt's alleged actions but was forced to publicly defend herself when he filed the lawsuit regarding the winery.

According to Jolie's account in the court papers, the altercation on the plane began when Pitt accused her of being too deferential to their children and started yelling at her in the bathroom.

He grabbed her by the head and shook her, then pushed her into the bathroom wall.

Pitt then punched the ceiling multiple times, causing Jolie to leave the bathroom.

When one of the children came to her defense, Pitt lunged at them, leading Jolie to intervene.

During the altercation, Pitt allegedly choked one child and struck another in the face.

The 2016 plane incident has been previously reported by the media.

In November of that year, the FBI announced that its investigation had been closed, and no charges were filed.

The legal dispute between Jolie and Pitt also revolves around the French winery, Château Miraval, known for its rosé wine.

In February, Pitt sued Jolie and her former company, claiming that she violated his contractual expectations by selling her interest in the winery without his consent.

However, Jolie's countersuit argues that she sold her share because of her discomfort with being involved in an alcohol-related business, given Pitt's acknowledged problem with alcohol abuse.

The lawsuits from both parties present contrasting narratives of how negotiations for Pitt to buy Jolie's portion of the winery fell apart.

Pitt's lawsuit claims that Jolie backed out of the deal after a custody dispute ruling went against her.

On the other hand, Jolie's countersuit alleges that Pitt was the one who terminated the deal after she declined to agree to his nondisparagement clause.

The legal battle between Jolie and Pitt continues, as they navigate the complexities of their divorce and property ownership.
