Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe Implicated in Mafia Scheme to Tarnish Kennedys, According to FBI File

Newly released FBI documents reveal that and were involved in a plot orchestrated by the Mafia to smear the Kennedy brothers.

The three Kennedy siblings, John F Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, and Edward Kennedy, were accused of engaging in s** parties with Monroe and members of Sinatra's Rat Pack.

An informant from the Mafia informed the FBI that the Mob planned to use women provided by associates of Sinatra to embarrass the Kennedys.

It was alleged that the Mafia had learned about the parties attended by the Kennedy brothers, Monroe, members of the Rat Pack including Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, Peter Lawford, and Lawford's wife Patricia Kennedy.

The Mafia intended for the women supplied by Sinatra's associates to engage in compromising situations with Robert and Edward Kennedy and Hollywood actor Lawford.

The alleged romps took place in John Kennedy's suite at the Carlyle Hotel in Manhattan, which was famously referred to as the “New York White House” during President Kennedy's administration.

Rumors circulated that President Kennedy spent the night in the suite with Monroe after her iconic performance of “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” at his 45th birthday celebration in 1962.

According to the declassified documents, the “reliable” informant claimed that the Mafia wanted to tarnish Robert Kennedy due to his crackdown on organized crime during his tenure as U.S. attorney general between 1961 and 1964.

However, the FBI only received this tip-off in July 1965, nearly two years after 's assassination, and did not initiate an investigation.

The FBI file, originating from the agency's Milwaukee office, included a memo suggesting that a wealthy New York divorcee named Mrs. Jacqueline Hammond possessed information about these scandalous parties.

Mrs. Hammond, reportedly divorced from her former U.S. ambassador husband, allegedly kept a room at the Carlyle Hotel.

Although she was considered credible, the FBI did not consider the details provided about the extortion attempt sufficient for an investigation.

It is said that President Kennedy used a network of tunnels to enter the hotel with guests, including Monroe, in order to evade the media.

The Carlyle Hotel has a reputation for being discreet and has been dubbed the “Palace of Secrets” by the New York Times.

Rumors have persisted since the 1960s that Monroe had affairs with both John and Robert Kennedy.

Biographers have speculated that when ended their relationship, the actress turned to his younger brother despite both men being married.

These documents were part of a collection of over 2,200 FBI files pertaining to the late Edward Kennedy, which were released to the public this week.

Most of the papers focused on various death threats made against the youngest Kennedy brother, who passed away last year from brain cancer.

The FBI clarified that the rumors regarding Monroe's involvement with the Kennedys were not considered solid, and no other evidence supporting them was found in the file.

They added that these files did not suggest any criminal or security investigations conducted against Edward Kennedy.
