Prince Andrew, also known as the Duke of York, has vehemently denied allegations of having a s**ual encounter with a teenager involved in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.
The prince claims that he is innocent because he suffers from a medical condition that prevents him from sweating.
During a recent 50-minute interview with the BBC, Prince Andrew stated that he and the accuser, Virginia Roberts, never had any form of s**ual contact.
He further explained that his inability to perspire, which he attributes to a condition resulting from his time in the Falklands War, makes it impossible for him to have been the person described as “sweating profusely” in a nightclub where the alleged encounter took place.
Roberts had claimed that she and Prince Andrew had s** on multiple occasions, including the night they met at Tramp nightclub in London.
However, the prince asserts that he was actually at a Pizza Express in Woking, located 31 miles away from the nightclub, accompanied by his daughter, Princess Beatrice, who was 12 years old at the time.
In addition to denying the allegations, Prince Andrew defended his friendship with convicted pedophile Epstein, stating that it had “seriously beneficial outcomes” for him.
He insisted that despite being in close proximity to Epstein during various instances, including on his private jet, private island, New York mansion, and Palm Beach residence, he never witnessed any wrongdoing or inappropriate behavior.
Regarding a photograph showing him with Roberts inside the home of Epstein's former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell, the prince claimed to have no recollection of the event or even going upstairs in the house.
He questioned the authenticity of the photo, stating that it could be a manipulated image.
Millions of viewers tuned in to watch the interview, conducted by Newsnight host Emily Maitlis, where Prince Andrew addressed his connection to the Epstein scandal.
He emphasized that despite Epstein's criminal activities, he does not regret their friendship as it had professional advantages for him.
Roberts, now 36 years old and a mother of three, alleges that she had s**ual relations with Prince Andrew on three occasions, starting in 2001.
She claims to have flown to London on Epstein's private jet, dined with the prince, and then went to Tramp nightclub where they danced, with him allegedly sweating heavily.
Prince Andrew attributed his lack of memory regarding Roberts to never having met her at all.
He also expressed a willingness to cooperate with U.S. authorities, although he believes he cannot provide any helpful information.
The interview, filmed at Buckingham Palace and approved by Queen Elizabeth II, shed light on Prince Andrew's involvement with Epstein.
The prince admitted that his decision to stay at Epstein's home in 2010 was misguided and wrong, but he felt it necessary to terminate their association after Epstein's conviction.
Prince Andrew has consistently denied any inappropriate behavior and has maintained that he was unaware of Epstein's illicit activities.
Epstein, aged 66, was found dead in his jail cell at the New York Metropolitan Correctional Center in August while facing charges related to s** trafficking and conspiracy to engage in s**ual acts with minors.
British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, who reportedly served as Epstein's associate and girlfriend, has been accused of acting as a procurer for him.
However, she denies any involvement in grooming girls for abuse and has not been charged with any crimes.
