Working with Jared Leto has proven to be a nightmare once again, as the actor's outrageous demands have reached new heights.
According to an interview with director Daniel Espinosa by Uproxx, Leto insisted on having someone accompany him to the bathroom during the filming of his latest movie, Morbius.
Notorious for his over-the-top method acting and disturbing behavior, Leto went to extreme lengths to fully immerse himself in the role of the vampire protagonist.
Crew members were forced to push him in a wheelchair whenever he needed to relieve himself.
During the interview, Uproxx's Mike Ryan asked Espinosa about a rumor he had heard regarding Leto's bathroom breaks.
It was said that Leto initially used crutches and limped slowly to the bathroom, but due to the time-consuming nature of these breaks, a deal was struck to provide him with a wheelchair for quicker transportation.
Espinosa confirmed the story, revealing that Leto believed he needed to experience the pain associated with his character's chronic condition.
This commitment to his craft led Leto to endure discomfort even during scenes where his character appeared normal.
Espinosa defended Leto's eccentricity, stating that all actors have their unique methods and quirks that fuel their performances.
However, Leto's reputation extends far beyond being a mere method actor.
He has been accused of sending dead animals to his co-stars, starting a cult with himself as the leader, and engaging in s**ual misconduct with underage girls.
These disturbing allegations have raised questions about why Leto continues to thrive in Hollywood despite such serious claims.
The pattern of powerful figures in the industry turning a blind eye to allegations is unsettlingly familiar.
Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey, both known rapists, had their actions widely known in Hollywood for years before facing consequences.
Only when public outrage reached a boiling point did they finally face repercussions.
The fact that Leto's alleged misconduct has not been met with similar consequences is troubling, especially in the wake of the #MeToo movement.
Perhaps the silver lining in all of this is the overwhelmingly negative reception to Morbius.
Critics have panned the film, and many are hoping that this could mark the beginning of the end for Leto's career as a star.
Whether or not this dream becomes a reality remains to be seen, but one can hope that the industry will no longer turn a blind eye to the troubling behavior of its stars.
