Caitlyn Jenner, the renowned celebrity, has agreed to pay a settlement of $800,000 to resolve a lawsuit connected to a tragic car accident that occurred in 2015.
ABC News has confirmed this development.
The incident involved Jenner colliding with a car, which subsequently crashed into another vehicle carrying five family members.
The individuals affected by the crash were musician Peter Wolf-Millesi, his wife Lea Wolf-Millesi, their two children, and Lea’s mother, Elga Maurer.
Court documents reveal the extent of the injuries suffered by each party involved.
According to the court petition outlining the settlement, Elga Maurer will receive $500,000 in compensation.
Additionally, both Peter Wolf-Millesi and Lea Wolf-Millesi will each be awarded $100,000, while their two sons will receive $50,000 each.
The injury details specified in the documents indicate that Maurer sustained a cervical spine fracture, Peter Wolf-Millesi endured severe nerve injuries to his hands and wrists, and Lea Wolf-Millesi suffered from blunt trauma to her knees, as well as neck and back injuries, along with emotional distress.
Nino Wolf-Millesi, who was only 4 weeks old at the time, was hospitalized due to an unresponsive state.
However, medical professionals later determined that he had not incurred any physical harm.
Apart from the settlement amount, Jenner will also cover all medical expenses and attorneys’ fees for the plaintiffs involved.
Attorney Philip W. Boesch Jr., representing Caitlyn Jenner, stated, “There have been confidential settlements of all claims and cross-complaints, and all parties are satisfied with the outcome.”
Spencer Lucas, who served as legal counsel for the Wolf-Millesi family, added, “The case has settled and the Wolf-Millesi family is happy to be moving on with their lives.”
The incident took place on February 7, 2015, in Malibu, California, involving a four-car pile-up that resulted in the tragic death of 70-year-old Kim Howe.
Jenner was not charged with any crime, and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office concluded that she was driving below the speed limit and had engaged her brakes before the impact.
