Evan Rachel Wood Alleges Marilyn Manson Committed s**ual Assault During the Filming of “Heart-Shaped Glasses” Music Video in 2007

Evan Rachel Wood, nearly a year after initially accusing Marilyn Manson of abuse, has come forward with new allegations stating that the cycle of violence began on the set of Manson's 2007 music video for “Heart-Shaped Glasses.”

The actress revealed these details in the first half of the two-part documentary Phoenix Rising, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on Sunday.

Wood claims that she was coerced into engaging in a commercial s** act under false pretenses during the filming of the music video.

In an interview with People, she stated, “That's when the first crime was committed against me.

I was essentially raped on-camera.”

Wood was 19 years old at the time, while Manson was 38.

She described the shoot as being completely different from what was originally pitched to her.

According to Wood, she and Manson had discussed a simulated s** scene, but once filming began, he started penetrating her without her consent.

She emphasized that she had never agreed to such actions, stating, “I'm a professional actress, I've been doing this my whole life; I've never been on a set that unprofessional in my life up until this day.”

Wood felt unsafe throughout the shoot and experienced feelings of disgust afterward, believing she had done something shameful.

She added, “I could tell that the crew was very uncomfortable and nobody knew what to do.

No one was looking after me.

It was a really traumatizing experience filming the video.

I didn't know how to advocate for myself or know how to say no because I had been conditioned and trained to never talk back, to just soldier through.”

Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, denied these allegations through his lawyer, Howard King, in a statement to E!

News on January 24.

King asserted that Manson did not engage in s**ual activity with Wood on the set and that she was fully coherent during the filming process, heavily involved in preproduction and editing.

Wood, who was in a relationship with Manson from mid-2006 to early 2011, is one of several accusers who have come forward with abuse and harassment allegations against Manson.

Other individuals, such as his ex-girlfriend Ashley Morgan Smithline and Game of Thrones actress Esmé Bianco, have also made similar claims.

Manson has consistently denied all allegations of abuse, stating on Instagram in February 2021 that his intimate relationships have always been consensual and that recent claims about him are distortions of reality.

As a result, he has been dropped by his record label, Loma Vista, and the Creative Artists Agency.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department conducted a raid on Manson's home in November 2021 after launching an investigation into reports of domestic violence.

In 2016, Wood publicly shared her experience of s**ual assault by an unnamed former partner.

She later testified before a subcommittee of the House Judiciary Committee in 2018 to advocate for the passage of the Survivors' Bill of Rights Act in all 50 states.

In February 2021, she revealed Manson as her abuser, alleging that he had groomed and abused her throughout their relationship.

Taking to Instagram, Wood expressed, “I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission.

I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail.

I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins any more lives.

I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent.”
