Seth Rogen, known for his frequent collaborations with actor James Franco, has recently stated that he has no intentions of working with Franco in the future.
This decision comes in light of allegations of s**ually inappropriate behavior against Franco.
During an interview with The Sunday Times, Rogen addressed the allegations and reflected on his own involvement.
He mentioned his 2014 “Saturday Night Live” opening monologue, where he made a joke about Franco's alleged direct messages to a 17-year-old girl on Instagram.
Rogen shared, “I decided to prank James Franco.
I posed as a girl on Instagram, told him I was way young.
He seemed unfazed.
I have a date to meet him at the Ace Hotel.”
Looking back, Rogen expressed regret over making that particular joke, acknowledging that it was in poor taste.
In addition to this incident, Franco faced accusations of s**ual misconduct in 2018 when former students from his acting school claimed he had forced them into uncomfortable situations.
Although Franco denied these allegations, a lawsuit ensued which was eventually settled in February.
Despite previous statements suggesting otherwise, Rogen now clarifies that he will not be collaborating with Franco.
Rogen emphasized that his decision is not coincidental and that the allegations have also affected their personal friendship.
When asked about the status of their relationship, Rogen responded, “I don't know if I can define that right now during this interview.
It has changed many things in our relationship and our dynamic.”
Acknowledging the impact of the situation, Rogen expressed empathy for those affected by the allegations, stating, “Yeah.
But not as painful and difficult as it is for a lot of other people involved.
I have no pity for myself in this situation.”
As of now, representatives for both Rogen and Franco have not responded to requests for comment from NBC News.
