A recent court ruling has determined William Balfour's culpability in the tragic deaths of three individuals from the family of renowned Grammy-award winning artist Jennifer Hudson.
Balfour, who was formerly linked to Hudson as her ex-brother-in-law, has been found guilty on all charges of first-degree murder concerning the fatal shootings that claimed the lives of Hudson's mother, brother, and 7-year-old nephew back in 2008.
In addition to these charges, the Chicago Sun-Times reported his conviction on counts of “home invasion, aggravated kidnapping, residential burglary, and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.”
The distressing incident unfolded during a period when Balfour had distanced himself from his spouse Julia, who happened to be Hudson's sister.
Prosecutors disclosed during the trial that his rage escalated upon discovering Julia's involvement with another individual.
In a previous coverage, it was noted that Hudson took the witness stand as the initial testimony in the trial.
She was visibly emotional, shedding tears when questioned by a prosecutor about the final moments she spent with her family.
Balfour, who was under probation at the time of the heinous crime, is now set to endure a mandatory life sentence as a consequence of his actions.
