If you've been keeping up with the updates on “Snow White and the Huntsman,” you're probably familiar with our delightful encounters with the vivacious and captivating Charlize Theron.
While we've relished in her stories of risky outfits and the intriguing “angular nudity” associated with that project, it's worth noting that the South African-born star is also part of another highly awaited summer hit, “Prometheus.”
Understanding that most of the plot specifics of Ridley Scott's “Alien”-inspired movie are under wraps, we anticipated that Theron wouldn't be able to disclose any major spoilers.
Hence, when we broached the topic with her recently, we took a different approach by inquiring about her co-star Michael Fassbender's portrayal.
Specifically, how prominently does his well-known anatomy feature in the film?
“Oh my goodness.
I don't believe it was showcased,” Theron humorously remarked when questioned about the extent of Fassbender's physical presence in the final product.
“He was busy filming the sequel for ‘Shame,' so his schedule didn't align with ‘Prometheus.'”
Theron playfully extended the jest, mentioning that she never got a chance to catch a glimpse in person because Fassbender's focus was elsewhere.
“I had to do so, as it was absent, hence it was captured on film from New York.
It's a detachable appendage,” she quipped.
“The appendage connects and operates independently; it's a fully functioning entity.”
To clarify, there is no sight of Fassbender's anatomy in “Prometheus.”
What we do know definitively about the acclaimed Golden Globe-nominated actor's performance in the movie is that he portrays a highly advanced android.
“David [is] an android aboard the ship, somewhat akin to a space butler,” Fassbender shared insights on his character as a human-like robot responsible for maintaining the vessel.
“He ensures that everyone is undergoing cryostasis correctly, that the spacecraft is in optimal condition, and that they are accurately navigating their intended route.”
