Jane Fonda Regrets Passing Up a Chance with Marvin Gaye

In a recent interview with The New York Times on Wednesday, September 2, Jane Fonda, the 82-year-old Grace and Frankie star, opened up about a missed opportunity in her past love life.

Rather than dwelling on Argentine revolutionary Che Guevara as a lost romantic interest, Fonda expressed regret over not seizing the opportunity with Marvin Gaye when it presented itself.

During the interview, Fonda reminisced about a time when she was introduced to the iconic Motown singer by a friend who was helping her organize concerts for her then-husband Tom Hayden.

Despite Gaye's apparent interest in her, Fonda, who was married to Hayden from 1973 to 1990, decided to turn down his advances due to her marital commitment at the time.

Fonda quipped, “I needed some but he didn't say that, no.” She later discovered that Gaye had kept a photo of her on his refrigerator, a detail she learned only after his passing.
