Drew Barrymore stands out as one of the most remarkable individuals on Earth for numerous reasons.
Her versatile career encompasses acting, producing, hosting, directing, writing, entrepreneurship, and modeling.
Rising to fame as a child star in Steven Spielberg's “E.T.
the Extra-Terrestrial” in 1982, she has since garnered prestigious awards like the Screen Actors Guild Award, BAFTA, and Golden Globe for her outstanding performances in productions such as “Charlie's Angels” and the recent Netflix series “Santa Clarita Diet.”
From a young age, I have admired Barrymore for her unique and adventurous spirit, which inspired me to emulate her.
Recently, she embarked on a new endeavor by hosting her own talk show, “The Drew Barrymore Show.”
In a recent interview on CBS Sunday Morning, she reminisced about her past experiences in the limelight, including the memorable moment when she playfully flashed late-night host David Letterman in 1995 by dancing on his desk during his birthday celebration in New York City.
Such spontaneity would undoubtedly ignite social media chatter and excitement.
Reflecting on her myriad escapades, Barrymore mentioned, “I think if there's one thing I've learned from my extensive time in the public eye, it's understanding the boundary between sharing and oversharing.
I have a sense of where that line lies; it's a gut feeling.” When questioned about seeking advice from fellow talk show hosts on transitioning into her new role, she revealed, “I've consulted with all of them.
They all emphasize the importance of pacing oneself.”
During the interview, the Emmy-nominated actress delved into her past, acknowledging that she had pushed boundaries at various points in her life.
Despite the challenges, she expressed gratitude for the opportunity to sustain her career over the years.
Barrymore previously discussed her impromptu act of flashing Letterman on “The Late Show With David Letterman” in 2018, revealing, “It sometimes feels surreal to look back on that moment; it's like recalling a distant memory that seems detached from who I am now — yet it remains a part of my journey, which I find quite intriguing.”
Growing up in the public eye and navigating the complexities of Hollywood, Barrymore faced her share of struggles, including entering rehab at 13 and legally emancipating herself from her parents at 14.
Now a 47-year-old mother of two daughters, Olive (7) and Frankie (6), from her previous marriage to Will Kopelman, she strives to set a positive example for her children by prioritizing a more balanced lifestyle.
Barrymore explains, “I believe in being honest with my kids.
I've had my own challenges and growth journey.
My children motivate me to be the best version of myself, and for that, I am immensely grateful.”
“The Drew Barrymore Show” debuted on September 14, 2020, featuring a heartwarming reunion with her “Charlie's Angels” co-stars Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu.
