Ana de Armas Finds Solace Away from LA After High-Profile Romance with Ben Affleck

Ana de Armas discloses that her connection with , which garnered immense media focus, compelled her to depart from Los Angeles.

The actress, known for her role in Knives Out, was romantically involved with Affleck for nearly a year before their split in January 2021.

The relentless media scrutiny surrounding their relationship played a pivotal role in de Armas' decision to exit the city shortly following their breakup.

Their romance blossomed after meeting on the set of the movie Deep Water in 2019.

In an interview with ELLE, the 34-year-old Cuban-born actor expressed how overwhelming the media attention was, describing it as “horrible.”

Despite the challenging circumstances, she viewed it as a catalyst for her departure from Los Angeles.

De Armas candidly shared that the invasive paparazzi culture and constant surveillance exacerbated her decision to relocate.

She admitted that the experience solidified her belief that Los Angeles was not conducive to her well-being, as there seemed to be no respite or escape from the intense scrutiny.

Reflecting on her time in LA, de Armas described the city as perpetuating a sense of unease and perpetual longing.

She articulated feeling a pervasive sense of incompleteness, indicating that it was not a conducive environment for her personal growth and peace of mind.

Currently, de Armas resides in New York with her partner, Paul Boukadakis, who holds a position as the vice president of special initiatives at Tinder.

The couple's relationship became public in June 2021, and they were recently spotted sharing a tender moment during a shopping excursion in Los Angeles.

Following her separation from Affleck, de Armas opted to deactivate her Twitter account.

Sources close to the actress revealed that the decision to end the relationship stemmed from its complexity and the geographical constraints posed by their respective lifestyles.

In a candid revelation, de Armas opened up about her struggles with belonging, recounting her experiences of feeling disconnected from various communities in both the US and Spain.

She expressed a sentiment of not fully fitting into any particular social group, further complicating her sense of identity and belonging.

De Armas, recognized for her roles in James Bond: No Time To Die and the upcoming biopic Blonde portraying , continues to navigate the complexities of fame and relationships while prioritizing her personal well-being and happiness.
