New allegations have surfaced regarding the behavior of Brad Pitt, six years after Angelina Jolie filed for divorce.
Jolie has filed a new complaint against Pitt in relation to a legal dispute over their wine company, where she details instances of physical abuse towards herself and their children.
According to Jolie's countersuit, an incident occurred on a private flight from Nice, France, to the United States in September 2016.
She alleges that Pitt “choked one of the children and struck another in the face” and also “grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her.”
The complaint further claims that Pitt poured beer on Jolie and even poured beer and red wine on the children.
The divorce was initiated by Jolie just six days after the flight, citing irreconcilable differences.
Following the filing, rumors circulated that Pitt was being investigated for possible child abuse linked to his alcohol use.
As it was a private flight, the FBI took jurisdiction and conducted an investigation into the incident.
Pitt was later cleared by the organization.
In April 2022, an anonymous lawsuit was filed against the FBI to release its findings, which was later discovered to have been submitted by Jolie.
The documents were obtained by news outlets in August.
In these records, Jolie informed FBI authorities that Pitt had “grabbed her by her head” and “pushed her into the bathroom wall.”
During the investigation, Jolie provided photographs of injuries she claimed to have sustained during the incident, which were later obtained by tabloids.
However, the FBI declared that no wrongdoing was found on Pitt's part, stating that “criminal charges in this case would not be pursued due to several factors.”
Pitt and Jolie first became a couple in 2005 while working together on the film Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
At the time, Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston.
Their relationship dominated headlines for years, and they eventually tied the knot in 2014.
Since Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, the couple has been involved in a series of legal disputes and custody battles.
The details surrounding their breakup have remained somewhat mysterious, with public battles fought through the media.
In response to rumors of his drinking and alleged abusive behavior, Pitt revealed in a 2016 interview with GQ that he had quit drinking.
In 2018, Jolie filed a legal complaint accusing Pitt of not providing “meaningful” child support.
Their marriage was officially dissolved in 2019.
Throughout 2022, Jolie and Pitt have been engaged in a dispute over the Château Miraval vineyard, which they co-owned.
Jolie sold her interest in the vineyard to Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler without Pitt's approval.
According to Jolie's lawyers, one of the negotiation conditions was that Pitt wanted her to sign a nondisclosure agreement, preventing her from speaking about his alleged abusive behavior.
The couple is still embroiled in a custody battle, as four of their six children—Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox—are under the age of 18.
In a recent interview with British GQ, Pitt expressed his heartbreak.
Pitt and his lawyers have yet to respond to Jolie's latest complaint.
It remains to be seen how these allegations will impact Pitt's career.
Despite past rumors and allegations, his public image has remained largely unaffected.
However, in the wake of the #MeToo movement, celebrities have faced increased scrutiny, though A-list male stars have often faced minimal consequences, as highlighted during the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard trial by Constance Grady.
