The accident occurred when Judd encountered a faulty lamp that obstructed her vision while exploring the rainforest.
As a result, she stumbled over a fallen tree, causing her leg to shatter.
Judd and one of her companions found themselves stranded on the forest floor for several hours until help arrived.
Judd highlighted the privilege she possessed in comparison to the local Congolese people.
She emphasized that her access to disaster insurance enabled her to reach an operating table in South Africa within 55 hours of the accident.
This starkly contrasts with the struggles that countless citizens in the Congo face when seeking emergency care.
Prior to reaching the hospital, Judd endured a grueling six-hour motorcycle ride to reach her destination.
Despite the challenging circumstances, she maintained a sense of gratitude and acknowledged her privileged position.
