Rapper Azealia Banks has responded to accusations that she threatened guests at a party hosted by Russell Crowe at his Beverly Hills hotel room on Saturday.
According to TMZ, Banks attended the intimate gathering as the guest of fellow rapper RZA.
RZA, who has signed Banks to his label, previously starred alongside Crowe in the movie “American Gangster.”
However, the evening took a turn for the worse when Banks reportedly made derogatory comments about Crowe's music selection, referring to him and another attendee as “boring white men.”
A female guest then criticized Banks' behavior, which prompted her to launch into a tirade, threatening Crowe and the woman by saying, “You would love it if I broke my glass, stabbed you guys in the throat, and blood would squirt everywhere like some real Tarantino shit.”
Witnesses claim that Banks then raised a glass in a threatening manner, causing Crowe to grab her in a “bear hug” and forcibly remove her from the suite.
Security guards were subsequently called to escort her off the hotel premises.
While Crowe has yet to comment on the incident, he did retweet TMZ's story.
Banks, who has been suspended from Twitter due to racially abusive tweets directed at singer Zayn Malik in May, took to Facebook to share a screenshot of a statement issued by her representative, Raýmani International, on Twitter.
In a now-deleted Facebook post, Banks allegedly recounted the incident in detail.
The screenshot reveals that Banks claims Crowe used a racial slur against her, choked her, and spat at her.
However, others present at the party insist that it was Banks who used the racial slur.
This is not the first time Banks has found herself embroiled in controversy.
During the summer, she sparked outrage by criticizing British rap as “a disgrace to rap culture,” resulting in her removal from the headline slot at London's Rinse festival.
In September 2015, she reportedly physically assaulted a man who blocked her path as she attempted to disembark a flight in Los Angeles.
She also used a homophobic slur against a flight attendant who intervened, and the incident was caught on camera.
Banks defended her actions by stating that she does not tolerate mistreatment and physical aggression.
Banks had previously declared her support for Donald Trump, but recently announced that she has withdrawn her endorsement and will be voting for Jill Stein instead.
In an interview with the London Evening Standard, Banks criticized Hillary Clinton, claiming that she is racist and merely seeks to align herself with influential white feminists.
Despite her controversial behavior and statements, Banks continues to make headlines with her outspoken nature and ongoing conflicts with other celebrities.
