The mother of a courageous American war hero, who tragically lost his life in Afghanistan while bravely serving his country, is now raising her voice against a controversial decision.
She was taken aback to learn that Prince Harry was selected as the recipient of an esteemed award established to honor her late son, Pat Tillman.
Tillman, an accomplished American football player, selflessly abandoned his sports career post the 9/11 terrorist attacks to enlist in the US Army.
Expressing her deep concern, the soldier's mother revealed her bewilderment and dismay upon hearing the news.
She emphasized her shock at not being consulted regarding this matter and expressed astonishment that Prince Harry, a member of the British royal family, was chosen for such a prestigious accolade.
In her statement, the grieving mother lamented the overlooking of numerous other deserving candidates for the award, underscoring her perplexity at the decision to bestow this honor upon Prince Harry, a choice she found utterly confounding.
“Why was he deemed the suitable candidate?
Why was I not provided with any reasoning or details on this selection?
As a mother, I believe I am entitled to more transparency,” she articulated.
Prince Harry has faced severe criticism from various quarters for this controversial recognition.
