Barbra Streisand Reveals Marlon Brando’s Proposition and Lifelong Friendship

Barbra Streisand, the renowned showbiz icon, is set to unveil intriguing revelations about her relationship with the late Marlon Brando.

In her upcoming memoir, “My Name is Barbra,” the 81-year-old legend discloses that Brando propositioned her for s** at a party they attended together in 1966, as per Vanity Fair.

According to the outlet, the actor allegedly said, “I'd like to f— you.”

Though she turned him down, they eventually became lifelong friends and frequent phone companions.

Streisand further shares that when Brando made the proposition, his wife at the time, French Polynesian actress Tarita Teriipaia, was in a nearby room.

Vanity Fair tantalizes readers with more insights from the tell-all memoir, including Streisand's recollection of Brando critiquing her Oscar-winning performance in the 1968 film “Funny Girl.”

Allegedly, he told her, “You were really good, but you run funny.”

Marlon Brando, who passed away in 2004, had been married thrice: to Anna Kashfi (1957-1959), Movita Castaneda (1960-1962), and Teriipaia (1962-1972).

During a 2012 interview with CNN's Piers Morgan, Streisand revealed another instance where she declined Brando's advances.

The “Godfather” star had proposed taking her to the desert to see the wildflowers and spend the night in a ghost town.

However, being a “nice Jewish girl,” Streisand politely declined and suggested going together for the day instead.

In addition, “My Name Is Barbra” will feature details about the singer's initial encounter with James Brolin, her husband of 25 years.

Among the reasons Streisand cites for marrying him, as shared by Vanity Fair, is his “great teeth.”

During a 2021 appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Streisand amusingly recounted her first comment to Brolin, who had shaved his head for a role, saying, “Who f—ed up your hair?”

Streisand also reminisced about the late Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis offering to edit her memoir in 1984.

However, due to her busy schedule at the time, Streisand had not yet written one.

She described Kennedy Onassis as “lovely” during their tea meeting.

As for the writing process of her memoir, Streisand disclosed that she would often write in journals but would get sidetracked with other commitments.

However, the pandemic provided her with the opportunity to finally finish the book.

“My Name Is Barbra,” which shares its title with Streisand's 1965 album and television special, is scheduled to be released on November 7.
