Barbra Streisand Reveals Marlon Brando’s Unwanted Advances

In her highly anticipated memoir, My Name Is Barbra, acclaimed singer and actress has unveiled shocking details about her illustrious career spanning over six decades.

The book includes a chapter titled “Brando,” in which the EGOT winner discloses a bombshell revelation about her relationship with legendary actor .

As reported by Variety, Streisand recounts an incident that occurred at a party in 1966, where Brando allegedly propositioned her, saying, “I'd like to f–k you.”

Notably, Brando's then-wife, Tarita Teriipaia, was in the adjacent room when this interaction took place.

Streisand declined his advances but chose to maintain a friendship with the On the Waterfront star in the following years.

Furthermore, it is revealed that Brando also offered his critique of Streisand's Oscar-winning performance in the 1968 film Funny Girl, stating, “You were really good, but you run funny.”

Over a decade ago, during a December 2012 appearance on Piers Morgan Tonight, the Yentl actress discussed Brando's advances and explained why she did not pursue a romantic relationship with him.

Streisand shared that Brando had wanted to take her to the desert to see wildflowers, but due to her conservative upbringing, she declined the invitation to stay overnight, opting instead for a day trip.

Despite Brando's persistent efforts to deepen their connection, Streisand emphasized that their friendship also involved wholesome moments.

The Hollywood icons would engage in lengthy phone conversations, lasting for hours on end.

Streisand even admitted that Brando had been one of her earliest celebrity crushes.

“Since I was 13, was my favorite,” Streisand confessed in an interview with W Magazine in November 2016.

“I saw him in Guys and Dolls — and that was it.”

She went on to share an intriguing anecdote about overcoming stage fright, revealing that when she finally returned to performing, she envisioned herself singing “I'll Know” alongside Brando in the film adaptation of Guys and Dolls.

Streisand even invited Brando to her home to watch the performance, where he insisted on experiencing her entire show before they watched a movie together.

This encounter was a dream come true for Streisand, as Brando had been her idol and biggest crush.

Following her divorce from her first husband, Elliott Gould, whom she was married to from 1963 to 1971, Streisand eventually found her happily ever after with actor James Brolin.

The couple tied the knot in 1998 and have remained inseparable ever since.

Brolin described their marriage in an interview with Closer magazine in January 2018, stating, “I'm easygoing, but I'm very opinionated.

And she likes to control everything.

I'm laconic and never get anything done.

But she'll zero in on one thing after the other, so that's what makes ours a great
