Ben Affleck: The Duplicitous Actor Belittled by David Fincher Before Cheating Scandal with Jennifer Garner

Ben Affleck, the talented actor with a massive fan base, has recently faced allegations of infidelity during his marriage to Jennifer Garner.

However, even before these details came to light, renowned director David Fincher had already criticized Affleck for his duplicitous nature.

In 2014, Affleck starred in Fincher's film, Gone Girl, where he portrayed a character accused of his wife's disappearance and murder.

It was later revealed that his character had been cheating on her.

Fincher, impressed by Affleck's portrayal, made some brutally honest comments about the actor's abilities.

During an interview with The New York Daily, Fincher stated, “If I was his wife, I think I would be very suspicious, always, of whoever just called because he has a real gift at being able to insinuate a conversation.

This is something that Ben is extraordinarily good at… there's a kind of indirectness to the way he can do those things.

Probably because he's so duplicitous.”

Little did anyone know at the time that these remarks would prove to be prescient, as Affleck's ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, eventually discovered his alleged affair during their marriage.

Affleck and Garner were married for ten years before their separation due to lifestyle differences and other factors.

Although they continued to spend time together and publicly announced their split in June 2015, Garner revealed in a 2016 interview that Affleck had engaged in a fling with their children's nanny.

However, she clarified that their separation had already occurred before the affair and that it had no bearing on their decision to divorce.

Currently, the former couple focuses on co-parenting their children and often appear together in public outings.

Gone Girl, the film that brought Affleck and Fincher together, can be streamed on HBO Max.
