Hyman, the eldest daughter of legendary film star Bette Davis, has made shocking allegations about her mother's life.
In a series of YouTube videos, Hyman claims that Davis was a neurotic, controlling, and manipulative drunk who practiced witchcraft and spent years trying to break up her daughter's marriage.
Even decades after Davis' death, Hyman continues to wage war against her famous mother through her Christian ministry.
Hyman, now 69 and residing in Charlottesville, Virginia, is a born-again Christian who shares her “testimony” with her followers in the YouTube series titled “A Long Day's Journey Into Light.”
In these videos, she reveals disturbing details about her mother's involvement in the occult and witchcraft.
According to Hyman, Davis would sit on her bed, cast spells on her enemies using their clothing, and laugh as she burned them in a metal wastebasket.
Hyman also claims to have witnessed her mother transform into a demonic figure during a trip to her California home in 1982.
She describes seeing Davis with a Satanic face and long claws, scraping at the glass of a terrace door.
Hyman further alleges that Davis' curse on her and her family led to her grandson's bipolar diagnosis and her daughter's terminal cancer.
These revelations add another chapter to Hyman's bitter relationship with her mother, which she first exposed in her tell-all book, “My Mother's Keeper: A Daughter's Candid Portrait of Her Famous Mother,” published in 1985.
The book painted Davis as a fading star who staged suicide attempts to manipulate her daughter and despised her British son-in-law.
The hurtful portrayal severed their relationship for good.
The strained relationship between Davis and her daughter is also depicted in the television series “Feud,” created by Ryan Murphy.
In one episode, viewers witness the volatile mother-daughter dynamic during the filming of “What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?”
in 1962.
The tension between Davis and her co-star Joan Crawford is nothing compared to the intensity of Davis' relationship with Hyman.
Hyman's claims of her mother's witchcraft and manipulation shed light on a dark side of Bette Davis that was previously unknown to the public.
Despite the pain caused by her mother's actions, Hyman believes she has found healing through her Christian faith.
Her ministry aims to help others who have experienced similar challenges in their relationships.
The legacy of Bette Davis, one of Hollywood's greatest actresses, is now overshadowed by these shocking revelations.
With over 100 films, television, and theater roles to her name, Davis was nominated for eleven Academy Awards, winning two.
She served as the first female president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
However, her reputation will forever be tarnished by the accusations made by her own daughter.
