Microsoft magnate Bill Gates, facing 11 state subpoenas recently, experienced an unexpected and rather unconventional welcome in Brussels.
During his visit to meet with 400 Belgian educators, business figures, and government representatives, Gates encountered a surprise encounter – a pie in the face.
As he made his entrance, a group of mischief-makers targeted Gates with a cream pie, resulting in his glasses and dark suit being splattered.
The orchestrated pie throw is believed to be orchestrated by Noel Godin, a well-known figure in Belgium who orchestrates such incidents and endeavors to sell recordings of these pranks.
Following the incident, law enforcement took two individuals into custody in connection with the attack and are actively seeking a third participant.
Despite his typical concerns revolving around software piracy rather than culinary pranks, Gates has opted not to pursue legal action, as confirmed by Microsoft spokesperson Mark Murray.
Murray disclosed that Gates, recognized for his intense competitive spirit rather than a jovial nature, surprisingly found humor in the situation later on.
“The pie wasn’t even that good,” was reportedly Gates’ response to the incident, showcasing a rare light-hearted side to the tech mogul.
