In a recent court filing, actress Angelina Jolie detailed disturbing allegations of physical abuse against her ex-husband Brad Pitt.
The incident allegedly occurred during a flight in 2016, where Pitt reportedly grabbed Jolie by the head and violently shook her.
According to the filing, Pitt also choked one of their children and physically assaulted another when they attempted to intervene.
Jolie filed a cross-complaint as part of their ongoing dispute over a jointly-owned house and winery in France.
These descriptions of abuse were included in the court documents, shedding light on the tumultuous nature of their relationship.
The filing revealed that Pitt's aggressive behavior began even before the family arrived at the airport.
He reportedly had a confrontation with one of their children, exhibiting signs of hostility.
Once on board the flight, Jolie approached Pitt to inquire about his troubling demeanor, but he accused her of being too submissive to the children and launched a verbal attack against her.
According to the court filing, the situation escalated when Pitt forcefully pulled Jolie into the bathroom and began yelling at her.
He allegedly grabbed her by the head, shaking her, before proceeding to grab her shoulders and shake her once again, forcefully pushing her into the wall of the bathroom.
In an attempt to protect their child from Pitt's aggression, Jolie intervened, grabbing him from behind.
In the struggle, Pitt allegedly threw himself backwards into the airplane seats, which resulted in Jolie sustaining injuries to her back and elbow.
The filing further stated that Pitt choked one of their children and struck another in the face, further emphasizing the severity of the alleged violence.
Earlier this year, amidst these revelations, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were granted joint custody of their children, with a 50-50 arrangement.
