Brits Call for Prince Harry, Archie, and Lilibet to be Removed from Succession

In the aftermath of Megxit, the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, finds himself at the center of a heated debate regarding his place in the line of succession.

Britons are divided on whether Prince Harry, along with his children Archie and Lilibet, should retain their positions in the royal hierarchy.

A recent poll conducted by TECN exclusively for the Express revealed that a significant majority of 66% of respondents believe that Prince Harry and his offspring should be excluded from the line of succession.

The survey, which gathered opinions from 1,624 British adults on January 25 and 26, indicated that only 18% of participants support the idea of Prince Harry and his two children maintaining their positions in the line of succession, while 16% remained undecided.

Despite stepping back from his royal duties in 2020, Prince Harry remains fifth in line to the throne, residing in California with his wife, Meghan Markle.

His son Archie, aged three, follows as sixth in line, with his daughter Lilibet, aged one, trailing behind.

The poll results further revealed a consensus among conservative and Labour voters, with 65% and 66% respectively, advocating for Prince Harry's removal from the line of succession.

Interestingly, supporters of both the Leave and Remain camps also exhibited agreement, with 65% of Brexiteers and 67% of Remainers supporting the exclusion of Prince Harry.

The poll took place in the wake of the publication of Prince Harry's memoir, “Spare,” which caused a stir within the royal family.

The tell-all book, released earlier this month, delves into various controversial topics, including Prince Harry's strained relationship with the royal family, his struggles with mental health, and revelations about his personal life.

Notably, the memoir addresses rumors of discord between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton, as well as Prince Harry's past experiences in Afghanistan and his personal challenges.

During promotional interviews for his book, Prince Harry expressed a desire for his children to have positive relationships with the royal family, despite his own criticisms of certain family members.

The memoir, which sheds light on years of tensions between the Sussexes and the royal household following Megxit, has reignited calls to strip Prince Harry and Meghan of their royal titles and exclude them from future royal events.

Amidst the ongoing controversy surrounding the Sussexes, King Charles and Princess Anne were spotted attending a Sunday morning church service together at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham.

The royal siblings appeared cheerful as they interacted with well-wishers on their way to the chapel, with King Charles engaging in light-hearted banter with some attendees.

Despite the absence of Queen Camilla and Sir Timothy Lawrence, Charles' wife and Anne's husband, the royal pair seemed in good spirits during their public outing.

Lady Susan Hussey, who recently faced backlash for her remarks to a black British campaigner, also joined the king and princess royal at the church service in Sandringham.

The 83-year-old Lady Susan, who had retired in the wake of the controversy, was seen smiling as she mingled with fellow attendees after the service.
