In a surprising turn of events, Bruno Mars, the talented singer-songwriter, found himself in trouble with the law after his performance at the Hard Rock Hotel Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
The artist, whose real name is Peter Hernandez, was taken into custody by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department around 1:50 A.M. on Sunday for alleged cocaine possession.
The arrest came following a discovery by hotel security personnel who detained Mars upon finding him in possession of a 2.6-gram quantity of what appeared to be cocaine.
After being held briefly, Mars was later released at 7:45 A.M. the same day after processing at a local detention facility.
Before this incident, Mars had been making waves in the music industry with notable collaborations on hit songs like B.o.B’s “Nothin’ on You” and Travie McCoy’s “Billionaire.”
His debut album, “Doo-Wops & Hooligans,” set for release on October 5 through Elektra Records, has been highly anticipated.
