She recalled a conversation she had with Douglas in the presence of their children, where she warned him about the possibility of more allegations emerging.
Douglas, who is 74 years old, took proactive steps by revealing his situation in an interview with Deadline.
The actor denied claims made by a former female employee that he had engaged in inappropriate behavior 32 years ago.
He vehemently denied masturbating in front of her and speaking raunchily on the phone in her presence.
Zeta-Jones emphasized their support for the #MeToo movement and revealed the difficulty they faced due to their personal connection to the issue.
She described the experience as “nasty” and shared her belief that false accusations can undermine the progress made by the movement.
The couple's two children, Dylan (18) and Carys (15), were also involved in the discussions regarding the allegations.
Zeta-Jones mentioned that Douglas tried to prove his innocence to them by assuring them that there was no truth to the allegations.
She commended his approach and stated that time ultimately revealed the lack of evidence supporting the claims.
Despite their marital ups and downs, Zeta-Jones asserted that she is not one to give up easily.
The couple has been married for 18 years, and she remains dedicated to working through their challenges.
This recent interview is not the first time Zeta-Jones has addressed the issue publicly.
She previously appeared on The View, where she praised Douglas for his honest and heartfelt statement.
