Charlie Sheen is fighting back against allegations made by a woman, identified as Jane Doe, who sued him last June, accusing him of not informing her about his HIV-positive status and putting her at risk during their s–ual encounters.
The lawsuit did not clarify whether the woman contracted HIV as a result.
Although Sheen was not directly named in the initial lawsuit, he was referred to as a “confidential male defendant” in his response filed on May 3 in Los Angeles.
The lawsuit referenced interviews given by the defendant on specific dates that align with Sheen's public announcements regarding his HIV-positive status.
In his response obtained by PEOPLE, Sheen describes the plaintiff as an “extortionist” and labels her as a “professional escort” who engaged in high-end escort services.
He asserts that she pursued relationships with wealthy individuals before crossing paths with him.
According to Sheen, since their separation, the plaintiff has attempted to extort money from him by threatening to reveal his medical condition publicly, despite signing a nondisclosure agreement.
He further claims that the plaintiff resorted to stalking his and his parents' residences, adding pressure on him.
Sheen maintains that the plaintiff was fully aware of his HIV diagnosis, alleging that he disclosed this information to her early in their acquaintance.
He argues that the plaintiff, being a professional s=x worker, knowingly assumes the risks of s–ually transmitted diseases with each paid encounter, including their interactions.
Additionally, Sheen contends that all disputes should be resolved through arbitration due to the existence of the nondisclosure agreement signed by the plaintiff.
When approached for additional comments, Sheen's legal representative declined to provide further statements.
Notably, Sheen faced a similar lawsuit in December 2015 from his former fiancée, Brett Rossi, who also claimed that Sheen misled her about his HIV status during their relationship.
This previous legal case was directed to arbitration proceedings.
