A recently uncovered video clip shows Courtney Love issuing a stern warning to young female actors about Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein.
The grunge singer, known for her role as the former front woman of Hole, was asked if she had any advice for young women trying to make it in Hollywood.
In response, Love said, “I'll get libelled if I say it.”
She then went on to reveal, “If Harvey Weinstein invites you to a private party in the Four Seasons, don't go.”
Love, who was married to Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, clarified that she was not one of Weinstein's alleged victims but claimed to have been blacklisted by agents at Creative Artists Agency (CAA) for speaking out against him.
On Twitter, she wrote, “Although I wasn't one of his victims, I was eternally banned by CAA for speaking out against Harvey Weinstein.”
CAA declined to comment on the matter, but a source from the agency stated they were unaware of what Love was referring to.
Weinstein, the renowned producer of Oscar-winning films such as “Shakespeare in Love,” “The English Patient,” and “The Artist,” has faced significant consequences since allegations of s**ual harassment first emerged last week.
Numerous women, including Angelina Jolie, Kate Beckinsale, and Gwyneth Paltrow, have come forward with accusations against him.
Reports by The New York Times and The New Yorker have detailed allegations of rape, s**ual assault, and harassment.
Police forces in the UK and US are investigating the claims.
As a result of the allegations, Weinstein has been fired from his company, expelled from the Oscars, and abandoned by his wife.
While he has apologized for causing pain, he has denied all allegations of nonconsensual s**.
Currently, Weinstein is reportedly in Arizona receiving “treatment” related to his behavior.
In response to Love's remarks, a representative of Weinstein did not immediately comment.
However, his spokesperson stated, “Any allegations of non-consensual s** are unequivocally denied by Mr. Weinstein.
Mr. Weinstein has further confirmed that there were never any acts of retaliation against any women for refusing his advances.”
The fallout from the Harvey Weinstein scandal continues as more allegations come to light and investigations unfold.
