In a recent interview, renowned actor Daniel Craig revealed that he has no intentions of leaving his vast wealth to his children.
The 53-year-old star, known for his portrayal of James Bond in the iconic 007 film series, expressed his views on inheritance and his desire to give away his fortune.
Craig, who has two children, Ella from his previous marriage to Fiona Loudon and another daughter with his wife Rachel Weisz, spoke candidly about his perspective in an interview with Candis magazine.
According to celebritynetworth.com, Craig's net worth is estimated at $160 million.
The actor questioned the notion of dying as a wealthy person, stating, “Isn't there an old adage that if you die a rich person, you've failed?”
He cited the example of Andrew Carnegie, a business magnate who donated a significant portion of his wealth, equivalent to approximately $11 billion today.
Craig implied that Carnegie's act demonstrated immense wealth since he likely retained some for himself.
Expressing his distaste for inheritance, Craig emphasized his philosophy of either getting rid of or giving away his wealth before his passing.
He firmly stated, “I don't want to leave great sums to the next generation.”
For him, inheritance holds a negative connotation.
Interestingly, Craig is not alone in his decision to not pass on his fortune to his children.
Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has also expressed similar sentiments, stating that his children will not inherit his money.
Ramsay clarified that it was not meant to be mean-spirited but rather to prevent spoiling them.
He did mention that they would receive a 25 percent deposit for a flat, but not the entire property.
Ramsay further emphasized that his children do not enjoy the luxuries he does.
They are not entitled to first-class treatment during travel.
According to him, they have not worked hard enough
