**Danish Royal Family to Spend Christmas Apart After Princes Lose Titles**

The Danish is facing a significant change this holiday season as Queen Margrethe decided to strip Prince Joachim's sons of their royal titles.

This decision has led to a rift within the family, with Prince Joachim expressing his concerns about the impact on his children.

The 's Christmas plans have also been altered, with members spending the festive season apart in different locations.

Prince Joachim recently opened up about the challenges within the Danish royal family following the announcement that his four sons, Nikolai, Felix, Henrik, and Athena, would no longer hold the titles of prince and princess starting from January 2023.

While Queen Margrethe emphasized that this move would allow the children more freedom to shape their own lives without the constraints of royal obligations, Prince Joachim disagreed, stating that his children had been negatively affected by the decision.

In a candid interview, Prince Joachim acknowledged the lack of communication within the royal family leading up to the controversial announcement.

He admitted that there are issues that need to be addressed and expressed hope for reconciliation, stating, “Communication was the missing thing.

Now we met and we are on the right track.”

As Christmas approaches, the Danish royal family will be celebrating separately this year.

Queen Margrethe will be at Marselisborg Castle in Aarhus, accompanied by Princess Benedict and close friends.

Crown Prince Frederik, along with his family, including Crown Princess Marie and their children, will be traveling to Australia.

Meanwhile, Prince Joachim and Princess Mary are set to embark on a planned trip abroad with their children, although the destination remains undisclosed.

The decision to strip Prince Joachim's children of their royal titles has caused tension within the family, with Prince Joachim revealing that he was only informed of the change five days before it became public.

Instead of being referred to as princes and princesses, the children will now hold the titles of counts and countess, addressed as Your Excellencies.

This alteration has left Prince Joachim and his ex-wife Alexandra concerned about the emotional impact on their children.

Despite the upheaval caused by the decision, the royal family released a statement emphasizing that Queen Margrethe's choice had been a long time in the making.

They expressed hope that the family would respect the Queen's wishes for the future.

The situation highlights the complexities and challenges faced by the Danish royal family as they navigate personal and public expectations while striving for unity and understanding.
