Demi Moore’s First Marriage to Freddy Moore Ended in Sabotage due to Cheating the Night Before the Wedding

In a revealing new autobiography titled Inside Out, Demi Moore candidly confesses to sabotaging her initial marriage with rock star Freddy Moore by cheating on him the night before their wedding.

Filled with uncertainties about their relationship, instead of confiding in Freddy, Demi chose to sneak out of her own bachelorette party to meet up with a man she had met during a film shoot.

“I spent the night before our wedding calling a guy I had met on a movie set instead of working on my vows,” she discloses in her book.

“I left my own bachelorette party and went to his apartment.

Why did I do that?

Why didn't I communicate my doubts to the man I was committing to for life?”

This incident occurred in 1980 when Demi, then 18 years old, was still grappling with the tragic suicide of her father, Danny Guynes.

“I couldn't accept the reality that I was getting married as a distraction from grieving my father's death,” she reveals.

She continues, explaining her thought process at the time: “Because I felt obligated to follow through with the plans I had already made.

I couldn't back out of the marriage, but I could undermine it.”

Demi and Freddy began dating when she was only 16 years old, despite the fact that he was already married to his first wife, Lucy.

The age difference between them was 12 years.

However, Demi, who grew up in a dysfunctional household, admits that she entered into the relationship with Freddy without much regard for his wife.

“I was a self-absorbed teenager who hadn't been taught to value the institution of marriage,” she writes.

Four years later, Demi filed for divorce from Freddy just as her acting career was starting to take off.

Reflecting on their troubled union, Freddy suggested that Demi, who has struggled with addiction and has been to rehab multiple times, had already shown signs of serious issues.

“I have never encountered a woman with such an overwhelming need to be loved and accepted,” he reveals.

“She made me feel that if I ever stopped loving her even for a moment, she would take her own life.

She was constantly plagued by jealousy and insecurity.”
