Denise Richards Openly Recalls Charlie Sheen Bringing ‘Companion’ to Thanksgiving Dinner

In a candid revelation, Denise Richards disclosed that her former spouse Charlie Sheen once arrived at their Thanksgiving dinner accompanied by a “companion” — an incident she surprisingly accepted.

During an episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the 48-year-old actress shared the peculiar anecdote with her ex-boyfriend Patrick Muldoon, mentioning how Sheen, 53, had significantly aged her.

Recalling the unusual event, Richards mentioned that several years back, post their separation, Sheen showed up for Thanksgiving dinner with a “companion” waiting in the driveway, hesitant to inform her about it.

As she humorously narrated the situation, Richards conveyed her response to Sheen's query about the presence of the “companion,” stating, “I'll set a f— plate.”

Amid laughter, Richards expressed, “Even a companion deserves to partake in Thanksgiving dinner,” emphasizing her nonchalant attitude towards the scenario.

Following the revelation, a representative for Sheen refrained from providing a comment when contacted by PEOPLE.

Richards and Sheen initially crossed paths while filming Good Advice in 2000, but it was not until Richards made a guest appearance on Sheen's former sitcom Spin City in 2001 that their romantic relationship commenced.

Tying the knot in June 2002, their marriage faltered by March 2005, with Richards initiating divorce proceedings as Sheen grappled with substance abuse issues, marked by his notorious public outbursts during that period.

During their split, Richards was six months pregnant with their daughter Lola, now 13, and the couple also shares another daughter, Sam, 14.

Subsequently, as a single mother in 2011, Richards adopted Eloise, who is now 7.

Over time, both Richards and Sheen, the latter now leading a sober lifestyle, managed to rebuild their trust and rapport.

In a surprising gesture, Richards invited Sheen to her wedding with Aaron Phypers in September 2018, held at a secluded Malibu estate overlooking the ocean, demonstrating her commitment to maintaining a cordial relationship for the sake of their children.
