Dolly Parton, the beloved country music icon, has rolled out the red carpet in a delightful invitation for Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis to visit her amusement park, Dollywood, situated in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
This generous offer comes on the heels of a missed opportunity to connect with their mother, Kate Middleton, last year.
In an upbeat interview with Closer, Dolly expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “Oh, I would absolutely love for them to come to Dollywood, that would be fantastic!” She envisions the royal children experiencing all the rides and attractions, promising to treat them like true royalty during their visit.
“I'd give Kate my mashed potatoes — I wouldn't put on any airs for them,” she chuckled, emphasizing that she wants them to enjoy Dollywood just like everyone else does.
Parton's connection with the royal family isn't entirely new.
Back in August 2023, she revealed on BBC Radio 2 that she had to decline an invitation from Princess Kate to join her for tea.
At the time, she was busy promoting her rock album, “Rockstar,” during her tour in the U.K.
Reflecting on the missed tea time, the 78-year-old star said, “This time, Lordy, I even got invited to have tea with Kate.
I felt so bad… I couldn't even go!”
Dolly shared her regret about not being able to make it, highlighting how special the invitation was.
“I thought that was very sweet and nice of her to invite me to tea,” she recalled, wishing aloud that she could find a way to meet up someday.
“One of these days, I'm going to be able to get to do that, wouldn't that have been great?”
With a playful spirit, Parton added, “But she wasn't going to promote my rock album, so I had to say no.
I hope she hears it though.” Despite her hectic schedule, Dolly made it clear that she valued the invitation and explained it was simply a timing issue.
Kate Middleton's focus on early childhood development resonates with Parton, whose own Imagination Library has distributed a staggering 200 million books globally.
“So maybe that's what we can talk about when we do have tea,” she mused, expressing her admiration for the Princess of Wales.
“I think she's adorable, and I hope someday to be able to sit down and have a good conversation with her.”
As of now, Dolly hasn't had the chance to meet Kate and her children, but she fondly remembers her encounter with the late Queen Elizabeth II during the monarch's Silver Jubilee in 1977.
The experience left her feeling both excited and nervous about getting the curtsy right.
However, she described the Queen as “very warm, very sweet,” and “very giving,” noting that the royal demeanor transcended formalities.
“Even though you have to do the protocol, you have to bow and all that, I could tell that she didn't care about that.
That's just something she had to do,” Parton explained.
“And if somebody made a mistake, it was okay.”
Dolly's admiration for the Queen was evident even after Her Majesty's passing on September 8, 2022.
In a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, she wrote, “She carried herself with grace and strength her entire life,” alongside a photo from their meeting.
Parton concluded her message with a sincere wish for the Queen to rest in peace, offering her thoughts and prayers to the royal family during that solemn time.
With such a gracious invitation extended to the young royals, fans are left wondering whether this delightful encounter will soon become reality.
Wouldn't it be wonderful to see the royal family enjoying the thrills of Dollywood together?
