Eddie Murphy Reflects on Past Jokes About the LGBTQ+ Community

, the renowned comedian, has recently opened up about his past jokes and how they now make him cringe.

In a candid interview, Murphy took a deep dive into his career over the years and admitted that some of his previous jokes may have crossed the line and become offensive.

During the TV interview, Murphy expressed his regret, saying, “Some of it I cringe when I watch it.

I'm like, oh my God, I can't believe I said that.”

The actor acknowledged that while those jokes might have seemed funny at the time, looking back, he realizes their insensitivity.

To illustrate the point, a clip from Murphy's 1983 comedy special ‘Delirious' was played during the interview.

The footage showed the comedian performing a routine in which he jokingly expressed having “nightmares about gay people.”

Reflecting on his old stand-up routines, Murphy humbly admitted, “I get a joke every now and then that's cringey.

But that's not to say I don't appreciate it.

I still appreciate it.

I'm looking at it within the context of the times.

I'm going, OK, I'm a kid saying that.”
