Eddie Murphy’s Controversial Encounter: A Transgender Escort’s Tragic Fate

In 1997, Eddie Murphy, the renowned actor and comedian, was enjoying immense success in Hollywood.

However, his encounter with a transgender prostitute in his car at a well-known cruising spot threatened to tarnish his wholesome public image.

On May 2, at 4:45 am, police pulled over the 36-year-old Murphy on Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood.

Shalimar Seiuli, a transgender individual, was also present in his Toyota Land Cruiser.

At the time, Murphy was married to Nicole Mitchell and had five children.

He claimed to be a “good Samaritan” giving Shalimar, also known as Atisone, a ride.

Although no action was taken against Murphy, Atisone, a “known transsexual prostitute,” was arrested for an outstanding prostitution warrant.

According to Murphy's spokesperson, he simply gave Atisone a ride after she requested one, as he had done for others in the past.

Murphy conveyed his frustration, stating, “I was trying to be a Good Samaritan, and this is what happens.”

Murphy further explained that he encountered Atisone while driving late at night, as he often did.

However, he mistook her for a woman initially, saying, “That's not even the issue.

It wasn't like I was looking for someone.

It was a person I assumed was a girl at the corner.”

The actor revealed his philanthropic efforts, which included giving money to homeless individuals and prostitutes in order to help them off the streets.

Murphy emphasized that his acts of charity were driven by genuine compassion and not for publicity.

Amidst the controversy, the National Enquirer paid Atisone's $15,000 bail in exchange for her story.

In an article titled “Eddie Murphy's Secret s** Life – His Transvestite Hooker Tells All,” she alleged that Murphy had requested to see her in lingerie.

In response, Murphy filed lawsuits against the National Enquirer and the Globe for $5 million each, citing libel, slander, and invasion of privacy.

The Globe suit was settled, but Murphy eventually dropped the lawsuit against the National Enquirer and had to cover the tabloid's legal fees.

Tragically, almost a year after her arrest with Murphy, Atisone made headlines once again.

She was found dead outside her apartment building, wearing only lingerie.

It appeared that she had accidentally fallen from the fifth floor while attempting to swing from the roof to her window using a towel.

The coroner's report suggested that Atisone's death occurred around 5 o'clock in the morning, coinciding with a scream heard by a witness.

Her demise was classified as accidental due to severe head trauma.

Eddie Murphy's encounter with Atisone not only sparked controversy but also had far-reaching consequences.
