Eddie Murphy’s Disinterest in Daughter with Mel B Revealed

Hollywood actor has expressed his lack of interest in having a relationship with Mel B's daughter, Angel Iris, according to court proceedings in LA.

Stephen Belafonte, Mel B's ex-husband who is currently involved in a bitter divorce battle with the Spice Girl, made these claims as part of his fight for visitation rights.

Belafonte argues that Angel, now 10 years old, has always referred to him as ‘dad' and believes he should have step-parent visitation rights since he helped raise her from birth.

However, Mel B is refusing to grant him access to Angel, even though he was awarded joint custody of their other daughter, Madison, who is six years old.

Belafonte has taken legal action against Mel B, alleging that she has been violating their joint custody agreement and demanding the right to see Angel because has shown no interest in establishing a father-child bond with her.

Belafonte's lawyer informed the court that Murphy has had no contact with the child and that attempts to serve him legal papers have been unsuccessful.

The brief fling between Eddie Murphy and Mel B resulted in her pregnancy, which initially led to Murphy denying paternity.

However, DNA tests later confirmed that he is Angel's biological father.

Following a legal case, Murphy agreed to pay millions of dollars in child support, amounting to £35,000 per month until Angel turns 18, totaling approximately £7 million.

In 2016, Mel B stated during an interview that although their relationship had a rocky start, she and Eddie now share a “respectful” bond.

She also acknowledged the role Belafonte played in Angel's life, considering him to be her dad.

Belafonte is now seeking Mel B's cooperation in facilitating his relationship with Angel.

He claims that Mel B discarded gifts he had given Madison, intending for her to pass them on to her older sister.

Belafonte argues that the sudden severance of ties between Angel and himself has caused emotional trauma and has been detrimental to her mental health and well-being.

Stephen Belafonte was married to Mel B for ten years until their separation in March 2017, which marked the beginning of a contentious divorce process.

During this time, allegations about their tumultuous marriage emerged.

In court documents filed by Mel B's legal team, the singer and TV star accused Belafonte of being physically abusive towards her on multiple occasions, including incidents of bruising her face shortly before her appearance on The X Factor in 2014, choking her, and holding her hostage.

In return, Belafonte accused Mel B of drug addiction and alcoholism, claiming that she acquired bruises from intoxication and attempted to conceal them by accusing him of domestic violence.
