Errol Flynn: The FBI’s Investigation into the Hollywood Star’s Controversial s** Life

, the charismatic heart-throb of his time, was not only adored by millions but also caught the attention of the FBI.

The Bureau, led by J. Edgar Hoover, meticulously documented Flynn's s**ual escapades, relishing in his amorous encounters.

However, despite their efforts, they never managed to catch him engaging in any illegal activities.

The FBI concluded that Flynn was a man of “low moral character” with an insatiable s**ual appetite, showing no respect for women.

They believed that he had been involved with every woman who had ever set foot on the Warner Bros. lot.

Flynn himself boasted of having bedded over 10,000 women, even going so far as to title his memoir “My Wicked, Wicked Ways.”

It seems that his success with women was not solely due to his charm and debonair demeanor.

According to the FBI, one of Flynn's former employees acted as a personal pimp, bringing young girls to him on the Warner lot.

This revelation shed light on Flynn's behavior and solidified his reputation as a dangerous deviant.

What truly put Flynn in hot water was his predilection for teenage girls.

Spending his free time around schools, ogling young maidens, it was only a matter of time before the law caught up with him.

In 1943, that moment arrived.

Flynn was arrested for the statutory rape of Peggy Satterlee and Betty Hansen, both 17 years old.

Hansen testified that they had engaged in intimate acts all over Flynn's yacht, the Sirocco, with the actor bizarrely keeping his socks on throughout.

Despite being acquitted, the FBI firmly believed that justice had not been served.

An undated memo stated there was no doubt about Flynn's guilt, asserting that he had committed similar acts many times before.

One particularly shocking incident occurred in 1940 when a confederate of Flynn's allegedly drugged a female actress on a train, after which Flynn raped her.

The actress attempted suicide as a result, highlighting the devastating consequences of Flynn's actions.

Olivia de Havilland, Flynn's co-star in “Santa Fe Trail,” also faced his unwelcome advances.

She had consistently rejected him for years, which only fueled his desire to conquer her.

According to Flynn's biographer, Charles Higham, he once drunkenly followed de Havilland back to her door, still dressed as Robin Hood, while she was in her Maid Marian outfit.

Faced with her cowering in fear, Flynn only retreated when her roommate threatened to call the police.

Even during his statutory rape trial, Flynn couldn't resist pursuing other women.

He became infatuated with Nora Eddington, an underage redhead who worked at the courthouse cigar stand.

After the trial, they ended up in Acapulco together.

The FBI diligently searched for evidence linking Flynn to Eddington, but their efforts were in vain.

Informants reported that no improper acts were witnessed, although Flynn and Eddington would occasionally leave the launch and head to nearby beaches.

Back in the United States, Flynn made Eddington his second wife.

However, their relationship deteriorated as Eddington discovered Flynn's infidelity.

She later revealed that he would sleep with other women in the same bed they used.

Flynn continued to attract controversy, and in 1951, French police arrested him during his wedding reception to Patrice Wymore for raping a 17-year-old girl.

The case was dismissed when a judge realized the cramped space in which the alleged rape occurred.

Flynn's premature death at the age of 50, in the arms of his 17-year-old mistress Beverly Aadland, further tarnished his reputation.

Doctors attributed his deteriorated health to excessive drinking.

In the end, Flynn's scandalous s** life caused considerable trouble for Warner Bros., as predicted by an informant from the FBI.

Although the Bureau never managed to bring him to justice, their files shed light on the dark side of a Hollywood star who lived a life filled with controversy and debauchery.
