Amy Schumer recently revealed that fans were taken aback when they witnessed the sheer size of her Trainwreck co-star, John Cena, during a particular intimate scene.
The actress starred alongside Cena in the romantic comedy back in 2015 and described him as comparable to a “refrigerator” when he first appeared, partially unclothed, in the scene.
Recalling the uncomfortable yet humorous love scenes and the initial reactions from viewers, Amy expressed in an interview with E!
News that Cena’s physique elicited audible gasps from the audience.
In a conversation with Opie Radio, she further emphasized, “He’s huge.
People just gasped.”
Describing Cena’s posterior, Amy humorously remarked, “It’s a whole universe, [Cena’s] butt.
That Cena a**.
It’s not even human.
It felt like having a Flick refrigerator on top!”
She also shared with MTV that the experience felt as if a refrigerator had literally fallen on her, suggesting it might have been more challenging for Cena, who had to actively participate while she humorously admitted to her usual laid-back approach in such scenes.
In the steamy sequences, Cena was depicted wearing only a small towel, barely concealing his prominent physique.
Amy disclosed that the prosthetic erection shown was actually crafted from wood sourced from an old broomstick, revealing, “I think it was part of a broomstick.
Jimmy was our prop guy and he was whittling one day.
I was like, ‘What you doing, Jimmy?
What you working on?’
He was like, ‘I’m making John’s erection.'”
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel’s talk show, Cena confessed to using a “p-nis sock” to cover himself on set, jokingly mentioning, “I have a ‘big part’ because of the costume department.
I was gifted a stunt p-nis.”
He elaborated on the experience of wearing the sock and the additional prop, stating, “[I was] almost all the way n^ked.
I had to stuff myself in a small nylon sock, and they gave me a stunt p-nis to insinuate an erection.”
Despite Kimmel playfully suggesting Cena incorporate the prop into his Wrestlemania 31 performance, Cena humorously declined, much to the amusement of fans.
While it is clear that Amy’s remarks weren’t focused on Cena’s height, it is worth noting that he stands at an impressive 6ft 1 and boasts a billed weight of 251lbs, equivalent to 17.9 stone, showcasing his remarkable muscular build.
In a light-hearted moment, Amy joked about Cena being “actually inside her” during their risqué scenes, playfully hinting at the authenticity wrestlers bring to such performances with her quip, “Wrestlers, they aren’t faking!”.
