Katie Holmes, aged 35, recently broke her silence on the highly publicized divorce from actor Tom Cruise in 2012.
The former couple, who were married from 2006 to 2012 and share a daughter named Suri, had kept details of their split mostly private until now.
In a recent interview with People magazine, the “Dawson's Creek” star expressed her desire to move beyond the defining moment of her life, emphasizing that she does not want it to overshadow her identity.
Holmes stated, “I don't want that moment in my life to define me, to be who I am.
I was an actor before, an actor during, and an actor now.”
Reflecting on her current outlook on life, Holmes revealed that she has shed any lingering fears, imposed fewer restrictions on herself, and adopted a more light-hearted approach to her existence.
She emphasized that she no longer takes herself too seriously.
Furthermore, as a single mother raising her 8-year-old daughter, Holmes shared her thoughts on the challenges and joys of motherhood.
She described the ongoing learning experience since becoming a parent and highlighted the immense significance of her daughter, Suri, in her life.
Suri, who has been in the spotlight from a young age due to her parents' celebrity status, holds a special place in Holmes' heart.
