In a surprising revelation, veteran actor Roger Moore, famous for his portrayal of James Bond, has come forward to disclose that he was physically assaulted by two of his former wives.
The 84-year-old star shared this shocking information during an interview on Piers Morgan’s show, “Life Stories.”
Moore disclosed that his first wife, Doorn Van Steyn, an ice skater whom he married at the young age of 19 in 1946, repeatedly punched and scratched him, leaving him with visible scars.
To add insult to injury, she even went as far as punching a doctor who was treating Moore’s injured hand.
The actor humorously commented, “It made a change because normally she punched me.”
He further recounted incidents where she threw a pot of tea at him after he gave her a cheeky response.
After their divorce in 1953, Moore’s second marriage to Welsh singer Dorothy Squires was equally tumultuous.
When Squires discovered Moore’s affair with Italian actress Luisa Mattioli, who later became his third wife, she also resorted to violence.
She threw a brick through his window and, in the process, cut her own arms while grabbing his shirt through the broken glass.
Moore shared that the police arrived at the scene and noticed Squires bleeding, to which she responded emotionally, “It’s my heart that’s bleeding.”
Unfortunately, neither of Moore’s first two wives are alive to respond to his claims.
Steyn, known by her birth name Lucy Woodard, passed away in 2010, while Squires died in 1998.
Despite these turbulent relationships, Moore went on to marry a fourth time, but that marriage also ended in divorce.
The shocking revelations provided by Roger Moore shed light on the dark side of his personal life, showing that even a suave and charming character like James Bond can face violence within his own relationships.
While it is disheartening to hear about the abuse Moore endured, it is important to recognize that domestic violence can affect anyone, regardless of their fame or success.
