“Furious Eddie Murphy Confronts David Spade Over ‘Offensive’ Joke”

The actor publicly criticized the comedian for a joke Spade made back in 1995 during a Saturday Night Live event.

The clash of emotions unfolded in an interview where Murphy expressed his discontent with the way the live comedy skit played out.

At the time, Murphy was facing backlash for his career decisions, notably the commercial failure of his movie “Vampire in Brooklyn.”

Spade’s joke, “Look children, it’s a falling star, make a wish,” struck a nerve with Murphy.

In a discussion with The New York Times, Murphy conveyed how the joke directed at him felt not only personal but also racially charged, hitting him hard during a vulnerable period.

“I found it to be a distasteful dig.

It came off as racially insensitive and uncalled for, especially given the circumstances I was in,” Murphy expressed, denouncing the producers of the show for allowing such a remark to air and highlighting the emotional impact it had on him.
