Thomas Brodie-Sangster, known for his role in Game of Thrones, had a close call with the London police while giving an interview on the twentieth anniversary of Love Actually.
Brodie-Sangster has been a part of the film industry since a young age, appearing in notable projects such as Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Nowhere Boy, and The Queen's Gambit.
His early acting experiences alongside renowned actors contributed to his success.
One significant film in his career was Love Actually, released in 2003 when he was just thirteen.
Love Actually featured several A-list actors, including Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Colin Firth, and Alan Rickman.
However, things took a surprising turn when they encountered trouble with the police.
In their visit to the London Park bench, where a famous scene between Brodie-Sangster and his on-screen stepfather, Liam Neeson, was filmed, the pair attracted the attention of local police officers.
The officers questioned whether they had the necessary permit for the shoot.
It turned out that Brodie-Sangster and Sawyer did not possess the required permit, leading one of the crew members to be warned of impending arrest by the police.
Sawyer reacted with humor, jokingly suggesting that this was the moment they should run away from the authorities.
Amidst the comedic encounter with the police, Diane Sawyer managed to ask Brodie-Sangster about his experience working with Liam Neeson, who portrayed his stepfather in Love Actually.
The actor expressed his admiration for Neeson, describing how he treated him like a son during the film's production.
“Liam was amazing.
He treated me like his son,” shared the Game of Thrones star.
“He was absolutely loving to me.
He just created this environment where I was very comfortable.”
Brodie-Sangster acknowledged that, at the time, he believed he was mature and experienced in the industry.
However, reflecting on the past, he realized how young and inexperienced he truly was.
The actor emphasized Neeson's kindness and support on set, highlighting the importance of having such guidance as a young performer.
He admitted that while he thought he knew everything back then, he now recognizes how naive he was and appreciates Neeson's influence and care.
