A recent incident involving renowned French actor Gérard Depardieu has caused a stir, leading to a delay in a Paris-Dublin flight for nearly two hours.
The disruption allegedly occurred when Depardieu reportedly urinated on the plane before takeoff, as claimed by an airline passenger.
During an interview broadcasted by France’s Europe-1 radio, the passenger, known only as Daniele, recounted the event, stating that Depardieu seemed intoxicated and declared his urgent need to use the restroom.
Despite instructions from the cabin crew to stay seated, Depardieu purportedly defied the directive and proceeded to relieve himself on the floor of the aircraft.
Karen Gillo, a spokesperson for City Jet, the airline operating the flight, confirmed the incident on the Tuesday evening journey.
However, Gillo cited privacy concerns as the reason for withholding the identity of the passenger involved, who was escorted off the plane alongside two companions and their belongings.
Efforts to reach Depardieu’s representative for comment were reportedly unsuccessful following the incident.
