Back in 1994, a renowned director invited , still a Hollywood newcomer at the time, to audition at his home.

Upon arrival, the director, clad in pajamas and with a drink in hand, crossed boundaries by touching Theron's leg during what was supposed to be an audition.

Despite disclosing the identity of this director to the media over the years, Theron expressed frustration in a recent NPR interview that his name remains undisclosed due to journalists choosing to shield him.

Reflecting on her encounters with s–ual harassment, Theron expressed the lack of closure that victims often experience, emphasizing the absence of a moment where they feel empowered to speak out and shift the power dynamics.

The actress shared her thoughts during the interview on December 16th, highlighting the ongoing struggle many face in seeking justice for such misconduct.

Theron delved into her latest movie, Bombshell, which delves into the true story of women who exposed Roger Ailes at Fox News.

Portraying Megyn Kelly, one of the key figures in the Ailes scandal, Theron drew parallels between the movie's narrative and her personal experiences with harassment.

Despite her efforts to name her harasser, the media's reluctance to publicize his identity has perpetuated the systemic issue of protecting perpetrators.

Recalling the first time she was asked about experiencing a “casting couch” scenario, a term associated with Hollywood's dark side of s–ual exploitation, Theron openly shared her encounter with the director in question.

However, it wasn't until the scandal erupted that Theron's story resurfaced, albeit without the perpetrator's name being spotlighted, much to her dismay.

As Theron navigates promoting Bombshell, she acknowledged the timing in revealing the director's identity, emphasizing that overshadowing the film's message with his name could detract from the broader conversation on harassment.

While she affirmed her commitment to eventually disclosing his name, she underscored the importance of prioritizing the film's narrative before addressing her personal ordeal.

Having witnessed the fallout from the Weinstein revelations and immersed herself in portraying the Ailes saga on screen, Theron expressed optimism that accountability will catch up with those responsible for such misconduct.

She hinted at a potential future disclosure of the director's identity, underscoring her unwavering stance against shielding wrongdoers and her hope for tangible repercussions in the wake of #MeToo movements.
