Prince Harry has reportedly intervened to stop Meghan Markle from writing a revealing memoir about her experiences within the royal family, according to a source.
The Duke of Sussex is said to have halted Meghan's plans out of concern for potential repercussions that could arise from her divulging further details about the Windsors.
This development comes as Harry seems to be making efforts to mend his relationship with his royal relatives, despite Meghan's purported desire to set the record straight.
An insider disclosed to New Magazine that Harry has openly discussed having enough material to create a sequel to his book “Spare,” but those intentions have now been abandoned.
Additionally, he has also put a halt to Meghan's book project.
“Spare,” which became the fastest-selling non-fiction book upon its release on January 10th last year, contained a series of allegations against members of the royal family, including Prince William.
The book triggered a backlash from certain sectors of the public who stood in support of the royal family.
Following the fallout from “Spare,” reports suggest that the Sussexes have been attempting to repair their fractured relationship with the Windsors.
While speculation had been rife that Meghan would pen her own book, the source from New Magazine revealed that a compromise was reached between the couple.
This compromise allows Meghan to proceed with a book centered on female empowerment, although Harry's initial proposal did not sit well with her due to the perceived pressure to conform to certain expectations.
According to the same insider, Harry lacks the authority to dictate Meghan's actions or make promises on behalf of the royal family.
The likelihood of a reconciliation between the Sussexes and the royals appears slim, with Prince William and Princess Kate allegedly having reached a point of no return in their relationship with Harry and Meghan.
Both Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace have refrained from issuing responses to the claims made in “Spare,” yet experts opine that a book detailing Meghan's life with Harry could be more financially lucrative than any further criticism of the royal family.
In light of the strained relations between Harry, Meghan, and the royal family, suggestions have emerged that the couple should extend goodwill gestures towards Princess Kate to amend past grievances.
Royal commentators and historians have emphasized the need for Harry and Meghan to offer well-wishes to Princess Kate as she recuperates following a significant surgical procedure.
Recent reports from Telecino's program “Fiesta” shed light on Princess Kate's health status, with concerns raised about her well-being.
However, Kensington Palace has since provided an update confirming that the Princess of Wales has returned home to Windsor and is progressing well in her recovery.
