Helen Mirren’s Surprising Revelation About a n^de Scene

Helen Mirren, a celebrated actress, stirred up attention recently by declaring her retirement from on-screen n^dty at the ripe age of 70.

In September, the esteemed Oscar winner remarked, “That’s the beauty of aging.

You no longer have to partake in such activities.

.

.

.

[Now] my delights are solely for my husband.”

Despite expressing relief about leaving behind her days of disrobing, Mirren confessed that she did not disdain all her n^de scenes from the past.

During a recent interview, Mirren disclosed that she actually didn’t mind exposing herself in one particular project—the 1979 erotic historical film Caligula.

Despite facing harsh criticism upon its release, this controversial movie featuring Malcolm McDowell and Peter O’Toole, and backed by Penthouse founder Bob Guccione, has garnered a cult following over time.

Mirren explained her comfort with the n^de scene in the s–ually explicit drama by stating, “Everyone was in the buff in that film,” she shared with People, somewhat humorously.

“It felt odd if you were clothed on that set.”

After wrapping up filming, Mirren described the contentious picture as “an intriguing blend of art and nudity.” Over the years, while amassing numerous accolades for her powerful dramatic portrayals, including a Tony award, she has remained supportive of the project where she portrayed Caligula’s spouse, Caesonia.

Reflecting on her experience, Mirren stated, “I’ve never criticized Caligula,” emphasizing her positive memories of the production.

She added, “I was relatively young when I worked on that—not so much in age as in film experience.

And you know what?

It was an enriching experience.

It felt like descending into Dante’s Inferno in many aspects.”

During the time of filming Caligula, when she was in her early thirties, Mirren recently expressed that she didn’t find it a big deal to disrobe for a role when she was younger.

Recalling her initial thoughts on appearing t0pless, she said, “Does it truly matter?” “I was involved in n^de scenes right from the beginning of my film career.

.

.

.

It was the trend back then.

.

.

.

It didn’t seem like a big fuss.”

However, despite her nonchalant attitude, Mirren admitted to feeling self-conscious.

The star of “Trumbo” revealed, “I always felt anxious.

Always.

It’s uncomfortable to be on a film set and be one of the few without clothes.”
