Jack Nicholson and Meryl Streep’s Alleged Romance during Ironweed Filming

A purported romantic entanglement between the celebrated movie stars Jack Nicholson and Meryl Streep has surfaced, reportedly occurring in the 1980s.

Jack Nicholson, a Hollywood legend known for his charm, supposedly engaged in a relationship with Meryl Streep while working together on the set of the 1987 film ‘Ironweed'.

Rumors suggest that their connection escalated to the extent of engaging in intimate activities inside his trailer on location.

This claim comes from revelations found in Mark Eliot's recent biography titled ‘Nicholson', where he describes the dynamic on set by stating, “Often during shooting, his Winnebago seemed to be balanced on four overworked Slinkys.”

Their initial encounter dates back to 1985 during the filming of ‘Heartburn', but tensions arose leading to Meryl expelling Jack from her hotel room and vowing to never collaborate with him again due to what she labeled as persistent advances, despite her subsequent denial of these allegations.

Despite this rocky start, they reunited for ‘Ironweed' two years later, allegedly igniting a clandestine affair.

However, it is suggested that Jack was entangled in a sporadic romance with Anjelica Huston and concurrently involved with actress Veronica Cartwright.

According to the book, the onset of filming ‘Ironweed' triggered a whirlwind of speculations regarding the closeness between Jack and Meryl, with Mark noting, “As soon as it [Ironweed] began, rumours exploded like wild mushrooms that something was going on between Jack and his co-star, I'll-never-work-with-him-again Meryl Streep.”

While both parties denied these rumors, Jack's complicated romantic engagements added a layer of complexity to the situation.

The focus seemed to shift from the film's artistic elements to the alleged liaison between the two actors, capturing the attention of those on set and beyond.

Notably, Meryl Streep, who has been married to Don Gummer for over three decades, maintains a lasting friendship with Jack Nicholson up to the present day.

During a recent appearance on Andy Cohen's Bravo show, Watch What Happens Live, Meryl participated in a playful game where she chose Robert Redford to ‘marry', Jack Nicholson to ‘shag', and Dustin Hoffman, her Kramer vs Kramer co-star, to ‘kill'.

As of now, neither Jack Nicholson nor Meryl Streep have issued any statements regarding these claims.
