Jared Leto, the actor set to star in Morbius, is facing a wave of controversy as old allegations of targeting underage girls resurface online.
As early reviews for Morbius flood in, Leto is also facing criticism from fans on social media.
Over the years, various publications have accused Leto of engaging in predatory behavior towards minors.
However, it is important to note that these reports of s*xual assault involving underage individuals come from unverified sources and have been circulating for over two decades.
The allegations against Leto revolve around his alleged pursuit of teenage girls.
Former The New York Post reporter Chris Wilson shed light on the matter in 2005 when Leto was accused of aggressively pursuing teen models.
According to The New York Post's source, Leto would constantly text these 16- and 17-year-old girls, which was described as “creepy.”
This occurred while Leto was in New York during his band's tour, Thirty Seconds to Mars.
In May 2018, Sprouse called out Leto on Twitter, alleging that the actor had messaged every female model aged 18-25.
He even questioned Leto's success rate in these conversations.
The reason behind Sprouse's accusation remains unclear.
James Gunn, director of Guardians of the Galaxy, responded to Sprouse's tweet by asking, “He starts at 18 on the internet?”
This insinuated that Leto may have pursued underage girls in the past.
However, Gunn later deleted the tweet due to his own controversial jokes on Twitter, which resurfaced that same year.
As a result, Gunn was fired from Marvel but went on to direct the sequel to Suicide Squad.
Coincidentally, Leto played the Joker in the prequel to Gunn's The Suicide Squad.
Recent reactions from netizens have reignited discussions about Leto's alleged pursuit of underage girls, especially in light of the negative reception to Morbius.
Many tweets referenced Gunn's deleted tweet, drawing attention to the accusations.
Furthermore, Leto's band, Thirty Seconds to Mars, has admitted to creating a self-proclaimed “cult” on their private Croatian island.
This admission only adds fuel to the fire of speculation surrounding Leto's behavior.
Additionally, rumors of Leto's questionable conduct on the set of Suicide Squad in 2016 have further contributed to these speculations.
It was reported that Leto sent used condoms to his co-stars and even sent a dead rat to Margot Robbie.
As Leto faces controversy once again, it remains to be seen how these allegations will impact his career and public perception.
