Jason Momoa, the actor hailing from Honolulu, showcased his Hawaiian heritage during his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
On the night of Wednesday (9 November), the Hollywood star graced the talk show to discuss his role in the upcoming children's film, Slumberland, where he portrays Flip, the peculiar outlaw entrusted with guiding a young girl through the realm of dreams.
In a candid discussion with Kimmel, Momoa delved into his new tattoos and shared insights about a recent snapshot from a fishing expedition that captured him donning minimal attire.
He revealed that he was clad in a “traditional Malo,” a loincloth traditionally worn by Hawaiian men for ceremonial events.
Amidst the banter, Kimmel humorously remarked on Momoa's unconventional fishing attire, prompting laughter from the audience.
The host quipped, “That's something.
And that's comfortable?”
To which the Aquaman star enthusiastically replied, “Oh, my God, yes!
I actually don't even like wearing clothes anymore.
I'm in it every day.
I wear it all the time.”
During the interview, Momoa playfully confirmed that he was indeed sporting the Malo, which led him to theatrically disrobe while Kimmel's band added a touch of allure with their music.
As the crowd cheered on the semi-n^de Momoa, Kimmel humorously remarked, “Let me tell you, I've never felt more like Danny DeVito than I do right now.”
Known for his deep connection to his Hawaiian roots, the actor often emphasizes the importance of his heritage.
In a 2019 conversation with CNN, Momoa expressed that frequent visits to Hawaii are essential for his well-being, stating that being there benefits his “soul.”
Reflecting on his bond with the islands, he shared, “For my soul, I need to be there.
If I'm not working, I'm trying to get over there.”
