Jason Momoa: The Man Behind the Scar

You may recognize Jason Momoa from his roles in Game of Thrones and Conan the Barbarian.

It turns out that it was the result of a bar fight back in 2008.

LA resident Dominic Bando got into a heated argument with the Aquaman star at the Bird Cafe.

Instead of keeping it verbal, Bando decided to escalate the situation by smashing a pint glass over Momoa's face.

The actor was rushed to the hospital and required approximately 140 stitches.

Bando, on the other hand, faced the consequences of his actions and was sentenced to five years behind bars.

One might assume that Momoa would be upset about having such a distinctive facial scar, especially considering that his early career as a model relied on his looks.

However, the actor's reaction was quite the opposite.

In an interview with the New York Post, he revealed, “I got called ‘pretty boy' my whole life.

If anything, it's like, ‘Good.'

It's not my thing now.”

Interestingly, this bar fight wasn't the only incident that altered Momoa's appearance.

Prior to filming Conan the Barbarian, Momoa informed a friend that he believed a broken nose would make him look more like the character.

Without hesitation, his friend obliged and broke his nose, contributing to the rugged look that Momoa is known for today.

Despite these incidents, Momoa's career in Hollywood has thrived.

Since his portrayal of Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones and his role in Conan the Barbarian, he has continued to impress audiences with his talent.

However, it hasn't been without its controversies.

He later took to Instagram to apologize for his insensitive comment, acknowledging the pain and seriousness of such issues.
